THE GOLDEN TEMPLE OF ART

In this studio, you don't work, you crown. The gold isn't in the piano, it's in the ideas. Every corner screams color, chaos, and pop glory. Canvases await their destiny, brushes like scepters.

This is where Pepo Art was born: where art is king and the workshop, a palace.

José Manuel González Vega, known as PEPO, is an artist who paints with his body, his gaze, and his story.

Every stroke in his studio is an act of devotion and rebellion. Here, you don't just stand still: you create, you take risks, you live art. These images capture the moment when the idea becomes substance. Welcome to the heart of the process... where it all begins.

PEPO ART on the cover

Art is crowned in Corona Nation

Between birds and brushes, there I am.

Art covers my back, but it is my gaze that crowns it.

I don't paint birds... I summon winged beasts

Wild color, unwavering gaze. Art doesn't adorn, it imposes. PEPO ART: pop jungle, real strokes, indomitable soul.

W-SEX Reunion with the Past. Original poster, 2004

A provocative and controversial exhibition that shook up the Querétaro art scene and marked a before and after in my career as PEPO ART

THE RABBIT'S EYE SAW EVERYTHING... AND DECIDED TO PAINT AGAIN.

He was born crowned, with sweet fury and a fierce gaze. From that sprang A Study of a Carrot: my new origin, my true skin.

LIVE INTERVENTION FASHION AND ART BY PEPO ART

During a nighttime fashion show, art left the wall and embraced the canvas. PEPO ART intervenes a dress in real time, fusing paint and body, luxury and attitude. Each stroke is born in the moment, like a ritual of expression without repetition. This performance celebrates the ephemeral, the bold, and the exotic; when fashion becomes the canvas and the artist, the jeweler of the visual.

PEPO ART presents FUMANDO ESPERO

Work created for the group exhibition commemorating the 50th anniversary of Pablo Picasso's death. A bold and contemporary reinterpretation of the master, in the visual language of Corona Nation.

painted to look impossible

It's not cut out, it's constructed by hand. Every fold, every muscle, every shadow: hand-painted with an obsessive attention to detail. This hyperrealistic Basquiat tricks the eye and raises doubt. Is it painting or collage? That confusion is part of the spell. In the PEPO ART universe, realism is disguised as a trick, but everything is true.

ready to conquer the world

Every painting that emerges from this studio is a pop manifesto with a predetermined destiny. Here, art isn't packaged; a jewel is protected with attitude. The skull shines, the frame roars, the cardboard trembles. Everything is carefully curated, because luxury also travels. This isn't a delivery; it's a coronation in transit.

MY ARTISTIC JOURNEY

Behind every stroke is a story. This is the path that brought me to PEPO ART: from the first fire-painted porcelain plates, to conquering international fairs with La Libélula, and then breaking away from everything to start all over again. Here are the steps, the twists, the risks, and the achievements. WELCOME TO THE PATH THAT MADE ME AN ARTIST

“FEET” PORCELAIN PLAQUE

This is where it all began. A porcelain plate, acid-etched, painted by a child with an old soul. Thirty-five years ago, I won two international awards with this piece in Valencia, Venezuela. It was my first work sold, my first victory, my first spark. It wasn't just art... it was destiny.

“NACHO'S FLEA” PORCELAIN PLAQUE

I watched him walk alone through downtown, talking to ghosts. No one was listening… except me. Between meaningless phrases, he gave me a world. I painted his madness, his skin, his flea in porcelain. And without knowing it, Nacho painted me too.

“OLD MAN” PORCELAIN PLATE

I painted it with fire and patience. It wasn't canvas, it was porcelain; it wasn't ink, it was soul. A man, the countryside, and the silence… and me, a child who knew how to see with a painter's eyes. That was 35 years ago… and it still burns.

STAND LA LIBÉLULA ARTE CONCEPTUAL EXPOMUEBLE GUADALAJARA 2007

At the beginning of 2000, I founded La Libélula Arte Conceptual, a company that became the largest and most influential art factory in Mexico. With a huge team and 100% handmade production, we exhibited at national and international fairs, selling more than 20,000 pieces worldwide. We became a benchmark in decorative art, design, and consumables. But behind every painting, there was a drive that demanded something more. Today, that drive has evolved into PEPO ART… I no longer create to sell; I paint to express who I am.

“LA FAMILIA”
SILLÓN DE FIBRA DE VIDRIO

This is where the form, the stroke, the voice began. I painted a family on an armchair… and without knowing it, it was my own signature. Almost 20 years ago, I won, but more than the prize, I gained clarity. Today, I look at those lines and recognize my artistic DNA. The pop body, the exaggerated gesture, were already in me.

“LEGO VS PLAY”
ACRYLIC ON CANVAS

This was the beginning of my break. From decorative to discourse, from The Dragonfly to pop soldier. I wanted to blend the realistic with the absurd, the warlike with the childish. It was my way of saying: I no longer paint to adorn, I paint to question. And so, playfully, I began to fight with art itself.
